Naturopathy

Naturopathy is a holistic approach to the patient, who is not merely seen as a biological organism but as an emotional and social being, whose health is affected by a number of external factors. In this sense treatment plans are highly individualised to meet the specific needs of each individual patient. Naturopathic diagnostic techniques include physical examination (body signs and symptoms & gastrointestinal palpation), dietary assessment, pathology testing - blood, urine, stool, saliva, hair, blood pressure, pulse, tongue and skin assesment where necessary.

Naturopathy is a method of healing which recognises the ability of the body to overcome disease using vis medicatrix naturae - the healing power of nature. At Eyre Naturopathy clinic we apply this belief and aim to restore vitality through supporting and stimulating the body’s own healing mechanisms.

You may choose to see a Naturopath for the following conditions:

Digestive disorders - chrons, IBS, diverticulitis, bloating, food intolerances.

Stress related conditions - anxiety, panic attacks, depression, exhaustion.

Hormones - PMS, endometriosis, menopause, irregular/painful menstrual cycles, fibroids, mood change, weight gain.

Childrens health

What to expect in a Naturopathic Consultation

Eyre Naturopathy clinic provides a holistic consultation and treatment of the whole person including emotional, mental, spiritual, physical and environmental factors, we aim to provide and promote wellbeing through the whole person rather than just the symptomatic relief of a disease. A patient centred approach is used with emphasis on patient autonomy; the patient and practitioner are in an equal relationship that values and respects the wants and needs of the patient. The consultation will explore the individual patients range of issues enquiring about past history, family history, lifestyle, mind, emotions, diet and most importantly body systems. Once the main issues have been pinpointed and understood your Naturopath will determine personalised goals and devise an individualised treatment plan.

In an acute case or a minor condition, these phases can be completed over a single session, however in a more complex case with numerous pathologies & underlying issues a longer time frame will be needed and may entail ongoing sessions.

A critical part of a Naturopathic consultation is the education of the patient to promote healthy living, self-care, preventative medicine and the unique factors affecting their vitality. At Eyre Naturopathy clinic we call attention to the responsibility of the patient in following a healthy lifestyle with a balance of family, friends, work, health, recreations, exercise, meditation and rest; nutritious meals, fresh air, water, sunshine, regular detoxification and cleansing; healthy emotions within healthy relationships; an ethical life; and a healthy environment.
